About #GivingWoofDayBP:
#GivingWoofDayBP, in partnership with #GivingTuesday, is about the impact our mission and volunteers have on their communities by engaging with owners to assist in the recovery of their lost pets and to be stewards of lost and stolen pets around Southeastern Wisconsin. It’s also about how we give back by educating and mentoring our volunteers and community and to support them in our and other important causes. This year, we are asking you to again reach into your hearts and help us with our mission. While our mission is a free community service, it is not free to run.
Making an Impact:
There are several ways we help lost or stolen dogs. We have helped about 80% of our cases get home. And some that are not our cases, simply by helping guide owners virtually or sending them our lost dog steps to take. We receive messages thanking us for being there and guiding owners to do what they need to do to recover their lost dog. The same with stolen dogs. Although, sadly, we do not have as great of recovery stats with stolen dogs. We educate the community on what to, and what not to do, to get lost dogs home safely; when we are out in the field helping an owner get flyers out. We will print out flyers, make road signs, get them out where they need to be, and use cellular trail cams and traps when needed. We’ve also gone to deceased dog scenes to help verify if a dog is one we know of and can reach out to an owner, or scan for a microchip. We help where others don’t or can’t.
How YOU Can Help:
Our goal is to raise as much as we can to help with the costs of insurance, trail cam data plans, bookkeeping software service, website, volunteer supplies, replace aging traps and trail cams, print educational and promotional materials, and other needed volunteer supplies so that they can be a valuable resource to owners and pets. How We Will Celebrate with You!
We look forward to connecting with you on #GivingWoofDayBP on November 29th, 2022. We will host live social media events (on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and TikTok) at different times throughout the day with our volunteers and some of our case dog owners who will share their stories and experiences with you. We will take questions, address concerns, share tips, and more! We will also have a door prize randomly selected from our live audiences for each event! Just join us for your chance to be a winner.
